Why cinnamon and why our Premixed Sand? Our play sand is Washed then dried, once dried we mix food grade cinnamon powder into the sand. The sand is mixed using an industrial auger helping with even distribution throughout. The sand is then bagged and stored ready for sale. Cinnamon is a great bug repellent, Some customers have also commented on how the sandbox smells fantastic. The cinnamon does, however, stick to wet skin and does get stuck under little fingernails. This is a small compromise to make instead of an ant / other insect bites.
