Professional Multi-Purpose Compost
Ideal for all around the garden, this premium compost contains nutrients that will feed your plants for up to 5-6 months.
This blend is specifically formulated to produce a compost that:
- Is free draining, and easy to re-wet if it has dried out
- Helps the plants to produce healthy vigorous root systems
- Promotes free flowering
- Is light-weight and easy to lift
Perfect for use in all types of planting and in all stages of plant life for nourishment and rejuvenation.
Added John Innes
The added John Innes provides plants with extra nourishment to encourage stronger plant development, increased flowering and longer plant life.
This expertly designed formula prevents plants from under or overfeeding by retaining nutrients and moisture after watering and slowly releasing when needed.
In addition, the perlite component allows air and water to move freely through the compost that promotes strong, healthy root development.
5-6 Month Controlled Fertiliser
To encourage plant growth, tastier fruit and veg and abundant blooms, Hadley professional compost contains nutrients to feed your plants for 5-6 months.
The specially formulated controlled-release fertiliser releases nutrients slowly to feed your plants.
Additional liquid feeding can be given to further enhance the performance of your plants, particularly at flowing time. Follow the instructions carefully.
How To Use
Potting Plants
- Water plant well and allow to drain before potting
- Allow enough space to accommodate roots
- Remove from pot and plant in a container, firming the compost gently around the roots
- Once fully planted water well.
Sowing Seeds
- Fill seed tray evenly with compost, then firm gently and water.
- Sow seeds following instructions on seed pack and cover the seed tray with glass/polythene to prevent drying out
- Place in a warm spot away from direct sunlight until seeds have germinated
- Remove glass/polythene and keep moist, until seedlings are ready for pricking out and planting
Seedling & Pricking Out
- Tease out seedlings once they’re large enough to handle
- Hold seedling by the leaves to avoid damage and gently tease the roots from the compost, using a dibber or pencil.
- Plant seedlings apart to allow for growth.
- Water regularly until the seeds are ready to be potted on
Taking Cuttings
- Fill seed tray evenly with compost then firm gently and water.
- Make a sloping cut in the stem of cutting and remove all bottom leaves. Dip end of cutting in hormone rooting powder to encourage rooting.
- Make a hole in the compost with a pencil/dibber
- Place cutting into the hole and firm compost gently around it
- Cover tray with glass/polythene to prevent drying out and place in a warm spot away from direct sunlight until cuttings have taken.
Hanging Baskets
- Line the basket and fill with compost.
- Plant with trailing plants around the outside and upright plants in the middle
- Water well.
Window Boxes and Containers
- Fill the container or window box with compost.
- Plant in the centre-piece, and arrange the trailing plants on either side
- When planting is complete water the plants well.
General Garden Use
- This compost is ideal for re-vitalising soils that are poorly nourished. Dig it into the existing soil to a depth of 6-9 inches approx.
- Then plant as normal.
Wear gloves and rework compost by hand to allow it to regain texture.
